Customized Online English Courses
Featured on Cambly
Cambly courses are grouped into a set of categories — Professional Development, Express Yourself, Exam Preparation, Reading Practice, Speaking Practice, Vocabulary Practice, Grammar Practice — and each category includes multiple courses at different levels, so you can start exactly where you are and move up as you improve. Every course pairs a specific skill with live speaking practice, so you're using the language in real time with your tutor, not just studying it.
Whether you're a complete beginner, an intermediate learner working on fluency, or an advanced speaker refining specific skills, there's a course built around where you are. Some learners come in to build the basics from scratch, others want to sound more natural in everyday conversations, and others are working toward something specific — communicating better at work, passing an exam like IELTS or TOEFL, or getting ready for a trip abroad.
Enrolling in a course is optional. You can enroll to follow a structured path and track your progress from lesson to lesson, or skip that step and simply try a course lesson during a regular booking whenever you like.
- Enroll in as many courses as match your goals, whenever you're ready
- Browse course descriptions and lesson previews to see what each one covers
- Before each lesson, choose which course you want to focus on
- Once your lesson starts, the course slides open automatically for both you and your tutor
- At the end of the lesson, mark it complete to move on to the next lesson in that course — or leave it as is and pick up where you left off next time
- If you rewatch the lesson recording later, the course slides appear alongside it and sync automatically to whatever your tutor was covering at that point
- Your tutor can also switch to a different course at any point during the lesson — including ones you haven't enrolled in
Every course lesson pairs new language with live speaking practice, guided by your tutor in real time. Depending on the course, that might mean discussing a topic and sharing your opinion, reading a short article aloud, describing a photo, working through a specific grammar point, or building vocabulary around a theme — along with activities like quizzes and role-play scenarios to make the practice more interactive, with your tutor responding and giving feedback as you go.
Not at all. Courses are entirely optional — you can just as easily have a lesson for free conversation with your tutor, follow a learning plan your tutor puts together for you, or bring your own material to work through together. Courses are simply there if you want a more structured way to practice.
Yes — courses are included with a Private+ or Pro subscription, so once you're subscribed, you can use as many of them as you like at no extra cost.
