Micaela
Hello!
Hello, my name is Teacher Micaela. I am from the beautiful country of South Africa and I am currently living in Sri Lanka. I am a qualified classroom teacher and have been teaching English for 6 years. I have gained much experience teaching English online and offline and in my classroom I focus on building my students' confidence and skills through personalized lessons to suit their educational needs. In my classroom, students can expect interactive lessons, clear explanations, and a supportive environment where they can freely practice and grow proficient in the English language. Whether a student is aiming to improve their conversational fluency, master grammar, or refine their writing, we will work together to achieve their language goals. I look forward to meeting and teaching you.
I love to travel: gaining new experiences, meeting new people, learning about new cultures, and seeing new things. In 2018 I lived in the USA for one year while I worked as a live in au pair for two separate families. After completing my year living abroad, I went back home to South Africa to study my degree in foundation phase education with the University of South Africa. During this time I worked at two different schools where I practiced as a teacher while studying. After completing my degree and graduating in 2024, I moved to Sri Lanka. I plan to go back home to South Africa for 4 months each year while I live in Sri Lanka. During this time I will continue to teach online and in my free time, spend time with my friends and family and travel a bit more of South Africa. My hobbies include hiking, listening to music, swimming, doing arts and crafts, and cooking. Among all my hobbies and interests, teaching English and getting to know my students, is at the top of my list.

Teaching Style
I am committed to creating a supportive and nurturing learning environment. As a teacher, I demonstrate exceptional patience, allowing my students the time and space they need to understand new concepts and information. Kindness spreads through my interactions, creating a sense of safety and trust. I openly invite room for error, recognizing that mistakes are important to the learning process. It is very important to me that I promote inclusivity in the teaching environment, ensuring that every student feels valued, respected, and inspired to participate fully, regardless of their background or abilities.
