Sue
Hello!
Hi: My name is Tutor Sue and I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. I worked in corporate healthcare for 20 years and now teach English full time. I enjoy working with students to help them reach their goals and have fun! I also enjoy traveling. I have been to Asia, South and Central America, and Europe. Most recently I visited Argentina and Uruguay. While I was there, I was able to practice my Spanish and eat some of the best empanadas in the world. Please feel free to connect with me. I hope to meet you soon!
My work experience has primarily been in healthcare marketing, including hospitals, clinics and wellness companies. After receiving an MBA in 2002, I moved to Shanghai, China to teach Business English to college students. I used the experience to see more of Asia. I then lived in Australia for a few months before resuming my marketing career in the USA. I continue to volunteer as an ESL teacher when I can, and have recently received my TEFL certificate. I love to travel and have been to over 50 countries. My goal is to teach in-person in another country as soon as my husband retires and can join me! We live in Minnesota but spend winters in warm locations. This year we are going to Mexico. I am also studying Spanish—so I can empathize with anyone who is struggling with mastering a language.

Teaching Style
My teaching style is collaborative. We’ll work together to set your goals are and then I'll develop lessons tailored to you. For me as the tutor, it's important that each lesson is relevant and challenging, so you reach your language goals, and interesting so you are motivated and want to continue learning. I welcome feedback from students on how lessons can be improved. I have worked with diverse learners including young children, college students and recent immigrants. I have also tutored learners from beginner levels to proficient.
