I am a native English speaker with TEFL/TESOL certification, born and raised in the United States with a diverse family. I previously worked as an immigration attorney where I worked with corporate clients, students, professionals, and others from around the world. I understand how much learning a new language can change and improve someone's life. I want to share my language skills with others in order to give them the support and encouragement they need to improve their lives, whether it be school, business, or travel. In my free time I enjoy gardening, sustainability and clean energy, fitness and working out, cartoons, comic books, history (especially food history!), travel, Buddhism, creative writing (I'm an aspiring novelist), Eurovision, Rupaul's Drag Race (LGBTQ+ safe and affirming), film making. Anteriormente trabajé como abogado de inmigración donde trabajé con clientes corporativos, estudiantes, profesionales y otras personas de todo el mundo. My teaching philosophy is to get to know you, the student, to understand not just why you want to learn English but also what your interests and hobbies are. By using your interests as an entry point, my goal is to make learning English fun and personal to you. Together we'll work on grammar, flow, and smoothing out those weird English phrases that you hear all the time so you can focus on sharing your thoughts and becoming a better English communicator.
