Liz
Hello!
Hi! My name is Liz and I am from Melbourne, Australia, but now I live in the Peloponnese region of Greece. I am in the process of learning the Greek language, so I know the challenges of learning a language!
My hobbies include hiking, writing, photography and animal rescue. I am also an ethical dog trainer and enjoy helping dogs in shelters and those living on the street. I have a 20 year career in nature conservation, where I was lucky to work in places throughout Australia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. I have worked in government an NGOs, as a project manager, team leader, government advisor and many other roles, constantly developing my skills in formal and informal communication. I enjoy travel and have traveled in South and North America, thirteen countries in Africa and the Balkans, as I lived for two years in Serbia. For eight years, I tutored students of all ages and managed a tutoring program in Melbourne, helping people from non-English speaking backgrounds to achieve their academic, professional and life goals by improving their English language skills.

Teaching Style
I have an empathetic and open style, creating an environment for students to extend themselves while feeling positive and confident. I find conversation practice with space to ask questions about language, grammar and conversational tips to be effective. You can tell me what helps you learn best too, as everyone has a different learning style. I am flexible to my students, so we can work on the areas where you would like to improve and you can see results.
