Hello!
(I only teach Adults, 18 or older) Hello, my name is Melinda and I am from Southern California but I have lived most of my life in Utah. My parents came over to America on a ship from England before I was born. I also lived in England near London for ten months while I was 16. I attended school there which was more like a junior college. In England, they expect you to do a lot of reading out of novels and writing many essays. Proper grammar was a must! Consequently, my skills were developed to a higher standard when I came back to graduate in my senior year of high school. I have always loved to edit papers and help people with their spelling and sentence structure. I love the English language! In addition, I have a keen ear for correct pronunciation in speaking English. During my life, I have had friends from several different countries. Growing up, my best friend was from Mexico. My best friend in England was from India and I had another good friend from Africa. In addition, I had friends at the University of Utah from Saudi Arabia and Syria. I have an adopted cousin from China. I enjoy the beauty of different cultures.
Life is a continual growing and learning experience. This is what I love to be a part of! Each day we can expand our minds and learn something new. I enjoy reading, listening to music, fast walking on my treadmill or outside in good weather. I also love time with my family and friends.

My method of teaching is highly adaptable. Each student is different; therefore, I would adjust my teaching to the individual student's needs. I am also results driven and together we would define the goals of the student to see what they want to achieve. I am very patient and give consistent encouragement. I do my best to make it an enriching and enjoyable experience.
