Hello there! I'm Kia, an English tutor from Chicago, Illinois, USA. Wonderful to meet you! I specialize in working with students who are intermediate level and above, and I teach students ages 12 and older. I had an amazing opportunity to collaborate with USAID and the Ghanaian Ministry of Education while living in Ghana. Together, we made a significant impact by creating, distributing, and monitoring 5 million textbooks in English, Math, and Science. It was a truly rewarding experience! Afterward, I lived in Mexico for three years, where I continued teaching while enjoying travel and immersing myself in new cultures. I also studied French at a university in Dijon, France. I'm an English tutor who is passionate about three things: learning, family, and traveling. I adore diving into the world of knowledge through books, reading over 100 books in a year. I'm a true bookworm! My favorites include biographies, sci-fi, mindset, and business books. Writing letters is also my joy! With 15+ penpals from diverse places like India, Uganda, Brazil, and more, I learn about their cultures, histories, religions, foods, and educational systems. They practice English, and we share incredible knowledge through letters. Speaking of family, I'm a proud mom of six amazing children, and together with my husband, we love homeschooling and exploring the world through travel. Traveling is not just about sightseeing for us; we relish immersing ourselves in the culture, languages, nature, economics, and religious practices of the places we visit. Here's a cool tidbit: we are international models! We've had the pleasure of being in commercials, photoshoots, and even TV show extras - loads of fun, I must say! One of my ultimate goals is to EAT my way around the world. Yes, you read that right! I'm on a tasty adventure to explore and savor delicious cuisines from various countries. I can't wait to learn about your country's culture and its mouthwatering dishes too. I am incredibly fortunate to have traveled to Canada, Mexico, Ghana, France, Togo, Ivory Coast, Bahamas, Belize, Puerto Rico and explored over 200 cities in the USA.
