Hello!
Hello! I am a qualified, experienced (37 years) EFL/ESL/EAL teacher and teacher trainer, who has taught many adults English language skills for work, recreation, academic and exam needs in HK, San Francisco, London and Istanbul. Finding your level and finding what your language needs and interests are: mean that I can make sure you are learning what you want, in the way you prefer and using topics that interest or motivate you most. The exchange of ideas and cultures when teaching adults is an important part of why I enjoy teaching: learning is a two-way street.
Travel, cooking and eating, swimming in the sea, gardening, laughing, reading and playing SCRABBLE or doing the daily Wordle are my hobbies. Tell me about yours. Travelling to new places, meeting new people and learning about food and history are my favourite activities- where have you been? Creating, reusing and 'upcycling' is my latest interest - what does this mean to you? Teaching helps me to do all of these so I really enjoy that too!

Lessons are always based on your needs: beginner to advanced, speaking and listening, reading and writing, grammar, pronunciation, fluency, preparation for presentations, projects or exams. Lessons with me are very interactive, even writing papers! There are lots of activities and challenges, always with a purpose, so you can learn, use as many of your talents as possible and enjoy developing your language skills. I am relaxed, serious, interested in you and will always make sure you are learning.
