Hello! My name is Jacob, and I am an American English teacher. I have certification in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), a degree in Family Counseling, and I have been teaching English for more than 5 years. And I have tutored public speakers for more than a decade. In lessons with me, we will focus on speaking clearly, pronouncing words correctly, and enlarging your vocabulary with practical and useful words and common everyday expressions.
I value meeting people from all around the world. It is fascinating to me to learn about different cultures and perspectives. I have had many long trips outside the US and enjoy spending time with people from various cultures. I also enjoy greatly helping people improve themselves and reach goals that make them happy. This is why I chose the professional path as both a counselor and an English language teacher. Lastly, I enjoy studying anthropology and global history and have a strong interest in science.

Lessons with me are relaxed and professional. I like to create a calm and intelligent place for students to learn English. I have three goals when teaching students: 1.) to strengthen their current language skills, (2.) to help them develop confidence in their speech, and (3) to invigorate them to learn more. In lessons with me, we will center on improving the English skills you need to know whether you are a businessman, housewife, lawyer, doctor, or professor (my current students are all of the above and a few children). We practice methods that help you increase your fluency. We concentrate on techniques to help you reduce your accent. We also do exercises that help you to be able to understand fast-talking native English speakers.
