Amanda
Hello!
Hello! My name is Amanda and I am a British actor, drama teacher and tutor by profession. I have been acting for many years, mostly Shakespeare, which has become an area of expertise in my teaching work. And, in my time, I have appeared in many popular UK TV shows. My journey with private tutoring began in 2014, and I adore each and every challenge that a new student presents. Acting, my first love, has taken me around the world and I have had countless amazing opportunities to meet and collaborate with different cultures and peoples. However, teaching, particularly in the last decade, has grown into my new passion, definitely eclipsing my acting bug: performance, presentation and communication skills being my specialties. I am so looking forward to meeting you.....Let's get started and move towards success.
My English parents were living in Australia when they had me, and I was raised in Papua New guinea, before their return to the UK while I was still a youngster. But this early tropical start set the tone for my love and zest for travel. Thank heavens an actor's life could fulfill my wanderlust! I have been acting since forever. 1982 in fact. Desdemona in Othello was my acting debut, which launched me on a Shakespeare/classical path from which I have rarely strayed, both professionally and personally. An actor's work is intrinsically linked to her day to day life, a work/life balance is tricky. I live and do acting work in my beloved London, but also I regularly teach drama and performance at a university in Spain, because I am one of those lucky people who has property in both London and Spain, zipping back and forth, which is why remote tutoring work suits my schedule so well. I am currently working hard to improve my Spanish because I have been asked by a theatre company in Spain to play Lady Macbeth IN SPANISH next year. Yikes! However, I love a challenge so....I'll see how I get on with the line learning!! I am a voracious reader, from the classics to the latest bestselling thriller. I am mad about animals. And being a bit of a news hound, I am constantly fascinated by current events and global news.

I am well known for delivering engaging and solution focused classes. My sessions are person centered, compassionate, with lots of communication skill based tools, which could include, (dependent on a client's needs and requirements) role play or storytelling or playful acting exercises that always have a goal orientated purpose. I work at a pace that suits the level of the client and their required destination..... but most of all they are fun!
