Hello! My name is Alexis, and I'm an English tutor based in Madrid, Spain. I have a passion for teaching and have been working as an English teacher for three years. Currently, I teach English in a primary and secondary school for the Spanish Ministry of Education, but I also have taught in summer camps and private classes at the students' home. I grew up in Florida and have always had a love for learning languages and traveling to foreign places to learn about other cultures and customs. After studying Business Management, I decided to pursue a career in education and help young students improve their English skills. When I'm not teaching, you can find me reading, learning a new language, doing sports, or spending time with friends. I also enjoy giving back to my community by volunteering at local events. Hi there! My teaching style puts an emphasis on giving students opportunities to utilize English in authentic contexts through exercises like role-playing. So, rather than focusing on grammatical proficiency, our communication will be primarily centered on “authentic interactions,” although grammar will be employed. To aid my students in learning, I apply a range of strategies in my sessions. For instance, games, storytelling, and audiovisuals. I believe that emphasizing genuine teacher-student connections helps me to give my students a safe and stimulating learning environment.
