Lavinia
Hello!
Hello my name is Lavinia and I am from England. I am a qualified primary school teacher and I have a TEFL certificate. I speak conversational Spanish and German and I have taught English to adults and children. I am a kind and friendly teacher and I make sure that my students feel comfortable speaking English to me. I have also worked in Marketing Communications for 10 years so I can help you with business English. I enjoy talking about all topics including current affairs, food, history, culture, films, books, sport and leisure and family life. I have a family and a dog. In my spare time, I enjoy walking my dog and going to yoga and spinning classes. I am also studying an A'level in Spanish. I hope to speak to you soon!
I was born in the north of England, although I grew up near Canterbury in Kent in the south of England. I went to Newcastle University to study German with History and after I graduated I worked in Marketing Communications in London and Manchester. Whilst working in London, I completed a TEFL course and taught English to Japanese and Latin American adults as a private tutor. When my daughter was born, I trained as a primary school teacher. I have taught children from aged 5-11 and I currently teach children aged 3-5 at a local school. I have taught at this school for nearly 10 years. In my spare time, I enjoy learning languages and at the moment I am learning Spanish with an online tutor. I try to practice speaking German with German speakers. I have three children (two teenage boys and a daughter at university) and a husband and we like walking our dog, eating in restaurants and travelling abroad. We have been to America, Hong Kong, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. There are lots of other countries I would love to visit! I try to keep fit and go to the gym - I like spinning and yoga classes. I also completed an online TEFL course to help me to teach English online. I hope I can help you learn English with Cambly!

Teaching Style
I am a very patient and kind teacher. I like to make sure my students are relaxed so that they feel confident speaking to me in English. I think it is also important to have some fun in our sessions as learning a foreign language is sometimes difficult! I enjoy talking about all things - everyday life, work, free time, hobbies, current affairs, family, history, books and films - whatever is of interest to you. I will also support you when you want to challenge yourself and your language skills.
