Hello!
Hello! My name is Mary-Lou. I am a native Canadian speaker, born and raised in Ontario, Canada. I have enjoyed teaching students from Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom for over 6 years. Currently I am starting my second year as a Cambly Classic Tutor, helping adults develop their fluency in English as a second language. I am excited and passionate about helping students achieve their goals in learning English. Whether you are learning English for school, working abroad , business communications or for self improvement I am here to help. Through courses and conversation I am certain Cambly has the path for learning and improving your skills. I am also an accomplished artist and I'm involved in training medical service dogs. I have always loved teaching, education, art and music. I strongly believe we all learn something new everyday. During the global pandemic, I was required to teach using zoom and video instruction. I discovered that I loved teaching using these platforms. (That's how I found Cambly) I also enjoy teaching weekly art classes and attending medical service dog training. I play piano, guitar and ukulele. I often take day trips through Ontario with my family. I look forward to expanding my teaching skills there on Cambly. See you soon!!

I am a patient and friendly teacher. My teaching style is encouraging and adaptable depending upon my students knowledge and comprehension. I love to laugh and try to make classes fun and exciting. I have an empathetic and supportive approach to correcting mistakes in conversation. I am known for taking notes during class. I keep notes on where we left off in our previous course/lesson. I also write down any challenging areas so we can revisit if needed. Taking notes really helps, so we don't waste any of your minutes and can get straight into learning as soon as your lesson starts.
