Michael
Hello!
Hi! I'm Michael. I'm from the United Kingdom and am a native English speaker. I've been teaching English for 17 years and have worked in primary school for 10 years and 7 years in university. I like to watch movies, and TV and enjoy cycling and the outdoors. My favourite food is curry and I love mind-bending, sci-fi, and fantasy movies.
Hi! My name is Michael, and I am a native English teacher from the United Kingdom. I am currently employed as a university lecturer in one of the top 10 universities in Thailand. I teach many forms of English, such as Basic English, Business English, English for Medicine, and many more. I went to primary and secondary school in the UK and graduated. I then went straight to work in the healthcare industry and did my degree in Health & Social Care part-time while working. At that time I worked in a psychiatric hospital in the physiotherapy department using exercise to combat mental illness problems. Next, I did a Cambridge English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) certificate in the UK. Finally, I moved to Thailand. As for my hobbies, I like to play the drums and the ukulele. I like to watch science-fiction movies and documentaries and like socializing with friends. I started my career teaching English to UK immigrants and then spent 10 years teaching children English, maths, science, and health education in primary school. Next, I had 3 years of teaching English online to Chinese students with a well-known company in China. Finally, I moved to teach English at a university where I have taught students aged 19+ for the last 7 years. During Covid-19 I held my university English language classes online for 2 years. As for suggestions to students, I would say that learning does not only take place in the classroom. Take what you have learned in the classroom and practise it to consolidate and remember what you have learned.

Teaching Style
A teacher that likes to make small talk and also serious conversation. A lot of experience teaching English as a foreign language to adults. I am very interested in teaching using Computer Aided Learning (CAL) and love writing online courses for work. For beginners I generally use PPP (Present Practice Produce), which is when you say the vocabulary or phrase to the student, they practise repeating it and then they produce it by using it in sentences. For older students, I normally use TBL (Task-Based Learning) which is when students learn from tasks they are doing, such as comprehension, grammar rules, etc. I really try to make it a student-centred classroom.
