Hello! My name is Latesha. I have been teaching English for over three years. I can help you with presentations, your academic papers, and conversational English. I have a B.A. in philosophy, political science, and East Asian studies so I can help you with those subjects. I also have a master's degree in International Development. My classes are a combination of games and serious learning!
I'm a Southerner located in the United States. I am a voracious reader who loves speculative fiction. I am happy to chat about movies, books, television shows, and music. I also speak an English dialect known as African American or Black English. I am happy to chat about the dialect and its history.

I like to utilize games to help people learn conversational English. For academic writing, we will take a more serious approach by improving vocabulary and introducing keywords to make your paper meet college standards. UPDATED November 2025: INTRODUCING MUSIC AND GAME CLASSES Join me on Fridays for a class where we discuss your favorite song or play your favorite game! FOR MUSIC: 1. Book the class 2. Send me the song you want to discuss. 3. We will play the song, you will tell me what you think the lyrics mean. We will go over the lyrics' meaning. *Explicit lyrics discussion only for people 18 years old and up. I will discuss the clean version of a song with people under 18 years old but not under the age of 15. Songs that do not have an explicit version are free to be discussed by any student. FOR GAMES: 1. Book the class. 2. Tell me the game you want to play.. 3. Tell me if you know how to play it already. 4. Come ready to compete! *Your game must have an online version that works easily. We can also do Cambly games. You can also introduce your own game, but playing it must be easy to do online. *Will only play games with explicit or violent content with people ages 18 years old and up.
