Stephanie
Hello!
Hi students! I'm an American from Florida, but I live in Italy. (Anche parlo italiano.) I regularly teach English at a university so I'm available on Cambly on Thursdays and Saturdays when university is in session. Although I'm from the Southern USA, my southern accent is not very strong. I do have one, but most of my students find it easy to understand me once they start working with me. I've been teaching English in Italy for several years now and it's a career that I really love. I started teaching online during the Covid pandemic and on Cambly in 2022. The experience with students on Cambly allows me to learn more about other cultures besides the Italian one where I live. I love the variety of the different students and I look forward to connecting with you soon. Please note: Students who like to post their learning sessions to their social media platforms must always have permission from the tutors in advance and for each session. It violates privacy laws if you do this without consent. I do not wish for my image or likeness to be published except by the official Cambly company as agreed in the tutor's working contract.
I'm an American living in Italy since 2012. I have had a varied career across many sectors (art galleries, construction, yachting, tourism, modeling, retail, food & beverage, teaching, event planning, advertising) and my passions include creativity, travel, adventure, teaching, and personal development. I enjoy helping others to improve whatever it is they want to achieve as long as they are willing. During the academic year I teach English at a local university to mostly Italian students and have taught at a technical school for jewelry design. When I'm not busy teaching English I work on my jewelry business and will soon teach jewelry making lessons. I love to do DIY and restoration projects on my house, work on any creative project, and enjoy spending leisure time with my Italian husband, our cats, and our friends or planning our next adventure. I speak Italian and I've also begun relearning French language that I studied in high school. I also love to travel and do adventure activities, especially those by the sea (scuba diving, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, zip-lining). I'm not afraid of a challenge and enjoy pushing myself to grow beyond my comfort zone.

Teaching Style
I enjoy telling stories whenever possible. I'm quite an open person and will talk about almost anything positive when having conversations. When working on speaking exercises with my students I offer gentle corrections with grammar and pronunciation without being too severe. I also understand that each student has their own preferences of learning styles (mine is visual). I like trying to discover what yours is and to work with you to improve in the areas where you are weak and to help you to understand English better by using your strengths.
