B
Hello!
Hello! My name is Brandi, but you can call me B. I am very excited to work with students who are ready to practice speaking English through conversations. I'm open to conversing about just about anything; whether you need help with a presentation at work, practicing your interview skills, or learning how to strike up conversations with new people, I am here for you.
I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. I speak English fluently, but started translating languages as a small child. A lot of my family immigrated to Canada, and I believe this is where my interest in language and education started! One of my biggest passions is travelling to different places to experience new things. My favorite place in the world is Hawaii and Costa Rica where I can swim with Sea Turtles and hang out with Sloths in trees. I am currently learning Hawaiian as a second language - so I am a student just like many of you are!

Teaching Style
There are many different ways to teach, as well as many different ways to learn. I like to have a personable, verbal dialogue with students to get to know them on a one-on-one basis. That way, we can curate lessons together to fit their interests, individuality, and overall goals. This approach will encourage students to engage in conversational learning which will not only teach the basics of the English language, but provide an opportunity to practice fluency, verbal undertones, and connotations with a native speaker in a safe space. I perform frequent reviews of lesson content to check in with the student to make sure they are grasping and retaining the information being taught. If a student isn't quite hitting the mark in subjects such as sentence structure or grammar, I will provide gentle corrections, guidance, and suggestions on how they can improve for next time. Additionally, I hope students feel comfortable enough to evaluate my teaching as much as I evaluate their learning. That way, we can get the most out of our time together. Overall, students can expect our educational space to be open, fun, personable, and enjoyable. I encourage you to book a session with me today, and I hope we can continue the conversation until you reach your goals!
