Hello! My name is Christy. I am from Texas in the United States. I've been a teacher for approximately 15 years specializing in Early Childhood Education ages 3-5. However, I ran a few after-school programs for children up to age 12 and taught dance to people of all ages. I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your English-speaking goals in a fun and positive learning environment.
For approximately 15 years, I worked as a teacher or Director of Early Childhood Education facilities. While I have taught ages as early as 12 months old, ages 3-5 are where I spent most of my career. Additionally, while I worked with ECE ages during school hours, I also helped teach and facilitate after-school programs for children up to the age of 12. I am a retired professional dancer and gymnast as well. That led to my teaching dance and gymnastics. It was so exciting and fun to teach dance to all ages, but my primary focus was on 3-8-year-olds. The age range I worked with in gymnastics was 0-8 years of age. Teaching children has been a wonderful experience and joy! Teaching is what I'm truly passionate about. I can't wait to meet your child and help them succeed in learning to speak the English language!

Teaching Style
Patience and kindness are a must when being a teacher. Gentle corrections in pronunciation, grammar, and tense will help build a student's confidence when learning to speak a new language. My favorite way to engage students is to use puppets, sing, share rewards and praise, and use visual aids like flashcards and common hand gestures. Fun and encouragement are a must in all my classes. This helps to keep your student's attention and makes learning less of a chore.
