Hello! Greetings from Columbus, Georgia, USA. I am a dedicated, TEFL-certified, ESL Teacher who especially delights in facilitating adult students’ growth and learning. Prior to teaching on Cambly for the last four years, taught university ESL classes for one year in the Peoples Republic of China, and spent more than ten years tutoring students in ESL, English literacy, and General Education Diploma preparation. Using excellent skills in presenting, writing, editing, and mentoring, I have served in academic administration, directed a university Department of International Students, and taught adult education classes. My career in business, which included administrative positions in the hospitality industry, financial services, and agricultural services, has especially stimulated my interest in teaching Business English and helping other adults achieve their goals. I look forward to meeting you in my classroom soon.
I am currently living with in a mostly rural area near the city of Columbus, Georgia. I live in a small house next door to my son, his wife,and their two children. I enjoy sharing meals with them. When I am not teaching, I spend lots of time birdwatching, reading, painting, drawing, and sewing. I especially enjoy the days when I can drive my car to explore new areas, visit a museum, tour a new city, or view beautiful scenery. There are always new adventures, new experiences, and new friends waiting for me.

Nothing is more satisfying than teaching English as a Second Language because it helps my students achieve success in their lives, personal growth and careers. Adults learn most effectively when lessons relate to their own goals, needs and interests. I am committed not only to preparing lessons but also to learning about my students and getting to know them. By knowing my students, I can more easily facilitate the use of even pre-established lessons in ways that help ensure student engagement and participation to achieve their goals.
