Melinda
Hello!
Hello I'm Melinda, a fun loving, well travelled Australian currently living in Ecuador who really enjoys talking with students from all the world. I have a background in adventure tourism, leading and travelling with groups across the globe to various different countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. I've helped many of my clients feel confident and comfortable learning new words and phrases in many different languages in a short period of time
I am a confident, yet fairly modest woman who loved growing up in Australia - whether it was a quick bike ride to the beach for an early morning swim before school or dashing back home from playing with friends in the park before the street lights came on - I was always the one ready to try anything and happy to say "let's do it". This free-spirited, yet responsible attitude helped me enjoy and succeed in my career in Adventure Tourism. Saying "let's do it" to camping in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, climbing Mt Kinabalu in Borneo, or cooking up an Argentine Asado (bbq) were always easy decisions with this sort of perspective on life. It's not always high-energy activities that bring me joy in life, I also like to read and watch documentaries that widen my scope of life's diversity. Conversations about topics that I know nothing about are both informative and enriching, It doesn't have to be a deep or philosophical topic, it could be as simple as "what do you eat for breakfast?" which makes for a delightful conversation.

Teaching Style
My teaching style is best suited to INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED students. I have a very informal learning style - there will be lots of laughing, smiling and joking around while still maintaining and respecting the professional environment, . I love using and teaching tricks to help with aspects of learning a language, especially with pronunciation. Cambly has a fantastic array of resources as well as my own bag of tricks that I have acquired over the years.
