Hello!

Hello English students. My name is John. I am from New York in the United States. I currently live in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a wonderful and interesting culture. My main interest is helping my students to practice speaking in English. To express yourself in a way that makes you feel confident when speaking your new language. Expanding your vocabulary and working on your pronunciation is a priority. I have taught Cambodian students ages teen to adult.. Practice builds skill and confidence. A lesson with me is a safe place to ask many questions and improve your English skills. I will typically ask students to read a short passage and we will discuss the content and vocabulary. I like to read and talk about many topics from recent news to history, philosophy and health. Please note that I am not comfortable with students calling without turning the camera on. I no longer make exceptions to this rule. And please don't call if you are driving your car. It is dangerous. I politely ask that you refrain from having your small children call me. I was born and raised in New York in the United States not too far from New York City. I have a two-year associates degree from my local community college. Listening to music has always been an important part of my leisure activities. And hiking the nature trails of upstate New York is a long favorite activity. I like reading about history and world politics. I also like to talk about philosophical and even spiritual things as well. I am a proud father of two teenage sons who live in the United States. When they are a bit older I am looking forward to bringing them with me to gain the experience of visiting a new culture. I love talking to people from different countries and finding out what life is like in their country and culture. This is the main reason I find myself attracted to teaching for Cambly online.
