Hello!

Hello Everyone! My name is Claudia. I’m from Peru but I grew up in the United States. I have a bachelors degree in Political Science and History from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. I also have a 120 hr TEFL certificate. I’ve taught English in Lima, Peru for a year, and I’ve been teaching English online to teenagers and adults alike for nearly a year. Before teaching, I used to work as a tour guide and translator. When it comes to teaching, I really like it because I enjoy being part of a team that brings together people from different cultures through language. As part of my teaching style, I like to base my lessons on my student’s goal and interests. Some lesson will be conversation based only, some lessons will be grammar based only, and other lessons may combine both approaches based on each student’s needs. I grew up in the United States but, due to my parents’ jobs, I was also fortunate to live in different parts of the world (Canada, Venezuela, Peru, the Unites States), to meet people from different backgrounds, and to learn new languages in the process. I like to paint and when I paint I draw inspiration from these experiences. There is still much I look forward to seeing in person and would love to hear more about you and your country.
