Ready to have more fun with English?! Hi there! I’m TJ, and I am so excited to help you improve your English. I have a BA in Communications and I’m TESOL certified. I have tutored native English speakers to improve their literacy and writing skills. And I have also helped many English learners build the skills they need to communicate with confidence. My specialties include natural conversation, grammar and writing. I enjoy working with intermediate students and helping them move from textbook English to natural English. Do you feel stuck at the low-intermediate level? I can help you take your English to the next level. And we can have fun doing it! Of course, if you are a beginner, you are also welcome. As I mentioned in my video, my number one love is travel. I have traveled to 15 countries and counting and have lived abroad in three. What I love most is meeting new people, exploring new places and learning more about different cultures. I would describe myself as a natural teacher, so I often find myself in informal teaching roles. These roles include tutoring at-risk youth in writing, reading and study skills and helping friends and co-workers improve their English skills. For the past few years I have been studying Spanish with the goal of becoming fluent. I have participated in many Spanish/English language exchanges. My partners always say, “You should be an ESL teacher!!” Now I am finally doing it! I truly love helping people improve their English. My experience has mainly been helping high-beginner to intermediate students move to the next level. It is easy to get stuck in the same simple, beginner conversation topics, vocabulary and language structure. If you feel stuck, I can help!
