Hello!
Hi, my name is Joanne. I have a degree in education and am also TEFL certified. I have a neutral British accent. I live in the UK and have travelled to many different countries. I have also been lucky enough to have lived and worked in Switzerland and Saudi Arabia. All of this has given me a great love of different cultures and languages. I am passionate about learning and teaching languages and have learned several languages to different levels over the years. I have been learning Spanish for the last 4 years and have recently taken on the challenge of learning Turkish and Italian more recently. I enjoy teaching IELTS (and other English exam) preparation, Business English, having general conversation on a very varied range of topics and grammar. I teach adults from intermediate to advanced level. As a Cambly Pro Teacher I look forward to meeting you and helping you towards your English goal, whether it be conversational English, professional English, preparing for interviews or working towards your IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge exams.
I love learning languages and teaching English to others. I also enjoy going for walks in the beautiful British countryside no matter what the weather, reading a good book, or watching a good film (especially on those dark, cold winter nights in front of a roaring fire), practising pilates, travelling and eating good food, especially when it is prepared by someone else!

I am a very patient, calm and fun teacher and believe that for you to get the most out of your lessons, you should feel relaxed and comfortable in your lessons. During your lessons with me you will have plenty of time to practise speaking English improving your fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary and confidence when using the language. As well as spending plenty of time speaking English during our lessons I can help you with your grammar, reading, writing and pronunciation. I believe that languages should be taught in a natural way, adapted for each individual, with speaking central to your learning. Remember, "we all have to pass failure on our way to success"!
