Hello!
Hello! My name is Teacher Eric. I look forward in taking you on a wonderous adventure through creative instruction. Since my career has been primarily in the performing arts, I received a BFA and and MFA from the University of Utah. Later in my career, I acquired my TESOL Certificate from Valdosta State University, Georgia. I have enjoyed teaching children and college students for many decades both nationally and internationally. My international instruction includes residencies in China, Russia, Hungary, Great Britain, Cambodia and Denmark. I love teaching English using creative approaches that I have learned in drama and dance. I believe that learning should be fun with interactive activities that keep the student engaged. Hobbies include international traveling, and as a former dancer/choreographer/director/author, I still enjoy attending stage performances and creative writing, when I am not practicing Tai Chi. I was fortunate to have an award winning book published entitled DANCE AUDITIONS: PREPARATION, PRESENTATION AND CAREER PLANNING as well as having a children's musical produced. It was entitled ENCHANTED MIRRORS. My new book SHOWBOY TO SHOWMAN: A LIFETIME IN THE PERFORMING ARTS has just been published. I am patient, posses a good sense of humor and try my best to make my students feel at ease so that they can converse comfortably. I hope you take the opportunity to attend one of my classes soon. I have been very fortunate to experience a long an active career whereby I have the desire to share those experiences with my students. I still occasionally perform and feel fortunate that I can still pass on my training to the youth of today in the classroom and online. At this stage of my life, I truly believe that teaching English continues to give me purpose and feel I can open doors for the next generation. I am blessed to see how receptive they are to my teachings and will continue as long as I feel I am needed. Teaching Style
I am a firm believer that an instructor must be patient when teaching any topic, and to reassure the student that they may ask questions at anytime during the lesson. Being a good listener and interjecting affirmations when appropriate is also an important part of my teaching style. Making the learning process fun through humor and fun activities has also been a successful part of my teaching style. Most of all, establishing a strong foundation of English skills for presenting oneself in an extended conversation is imperative. This student sums up my teaching style: For me, you are someone I want to learn a lot from—especially your attitude towards life. Every time I interact with you, I feel your positive energy. You know different languages and can speak so many of them, which has become a goal for me that I hope to achieve one day. So, I really appreciate your teaching and your time. It's not just about the Cambly English lessons, but more importantly, you've taught me a lot about life and how to live a wonderful life. Adam
