Hello! My name is Teacher Jana and I am so excited to meet you and learn English with you! I live in Tampa, Florida. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development from The Ohio State University and a graduate certificate in Elementary Education from Ashland University. I am licensed to teach grades preschool-third grade . I have taught students from preschool to high school in an English as a Second Language program for the past 6 years in more than 20 countries around the world and in over 8,000 classes! I have been a substitute teacher and have also been the lead volunteer at my children’s school for 10 years. I will help your child become a successful English speaker by correcting pronunciation and grammar. I will encourage them to speak in full sentences and participate in conversation. I am always professional and will also use music, props and games to promote successful learning and keep my students engaged. My favorite thing about teaching on Cambly is the bond that I form with my students and their families throughout our time together, as well as seeing my students succeed and accomplish their goals. I love to learn about new cultures and to teach my students about ours. My hobbies include going to the beach , photography, and going to Disney World with my husband and two kids! I love meeting new students! I have been with Cambly for more than 4 years and am very experienced in education. Please check my schedule or message me for booking requests. I currently have some openings for regularly scheduled weekly lessons. My passion in life has always been teaching and helping students become confident in themselves across all aspects of life. Not just academically, but socially and emotionally too. I value the relationship I build with my students and their families. I enjoy learning about their culture and teaching them about mine. I love to get to know them and find out what they love and what they want to gain from our classes together. I am energetic and positive and believe in fostering the best learning environment possible for each student! Some of my favorite things are Disney World (it is very close to my house!), animals (my dog, Willie!), going to the beach, and being a photographer. Teaching Style
My teaching style is enthusiastic, encouraging, and patient. I use positive reinforcement in my classroom. I believe in scaffolding and adapting to a level that the student is comfortable with, which also helps to keep them interested and focused. I enjoy engaging in conversation as much as possible to encourage free talk and to get to know one another. When appropriate, I love bringing props, games, and music into the classroom! My goal is always for the student to meet their expectations of our lessons. Your success is my success! I want to have fun but also be productive.
