Hello!
My name is Karen and I am a native English speaker, born and raised in London, England. I have professional English teaching qualifications with over 30 years voluntary teaching experience. I love teaching people of all back grounds, nationalities and ages. Teaching is an art and I have learnt this art for over 30 years! I am happy to teach Conversational English, Business English and English for specific purposes.
I thoroughly enjoy travel and have a keen interest in different cultures and cuisines. I love to grow my own food & I love to read and sew. I have engaged in a voluntary work for many years which I really enjoy. I have lived in the Caribbean and in Africa, where I continued to teach voluntarily with my husband.

I have a very clear conversational teaching style. I teach with enthusiasm, warmth and empathy. I teach with positivity and give lots of encouragement. I draw the students out by helping them to come to the correct conclusion themselves. My students are often able to self correct through my appropriate uses of open and closed questions. I have prepared many students for interviews and many have been successful in obtaining their jobs.
