Hello! My name is Emily. I am 26 years old and I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I am currently working as a kindergarten teacher and am pursuing a Master's in Elementary Education. I speak slowly and clearly, I am very friendly, and I love working with people. I worked as an English language assistant in France between September 2020 and May 2022, and before that, I worked as a teaching assistant in schools in California and Vienna. I have many hobbies and passions which include traveling, playing guitar, surfing, horseback riding, knitting, reading, and cooking. I have taught English to people of various ages, cultural backgrounds, and language abilities, so I know how to shape my lessons around the student(s) needs and interests. I know when a student is not understanding something, and I always make sure to slow down, repeat, and/or restate the concept in a simpler way in order for the student to understand better. As for my accent, I have a neutral American accent which is slow, clear, and easy to understand. Having studied German and French, I know how difficult it is to learn a language when the speaker's voice is too fast and words aren't enunciated properly. I take the time to make sure my students understand me and enjoy the lessons.
