Hello!
Hello! My name is Mary. I have a Bachelors Degree from Samford University and a Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix. I have 17 years experience in the public classroom and 7 years experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in the online classroom. It is a joy for me to work with the students. Teaching the student and seeing that gleam in their eyes when they learn something new is so heartwarming. I anticipate great things for my students in the field of English. In addition to teaching I also enjoy time with my family, being outdoors, swimming, cooking, and photography. I like to spend time in the mountains or on the beach. As previously mentioned I have 17 years classroom experience and 5 years ESL experience in the online classroom. I served as a Youth Pastor for 2 years. I have several years retail, food service, and customer service experience. I have a teaching certificate and held a substitute certificate. I have also worked as a 3-4 years old preschool teacher.

I really like to have a lot of fun while teaching but at the same time be certain to deliver the information clearly to the student. It is important that the student is comfortable and relaxed so that they can learn with ease. I use different props from time to time such as puppets, stuffed animals, hand motions, etc. Sometimes just one little hurdle can be crossed with one of these and the concept becomes clear.
