Hello!
Hello! My name is Whitney and I am so excited to meet you! I graduated with my Master's degree from The Florida State University and have my elementary and special education teaching certifications. I have four years of classroom teaching experience but have worked in the school setting for over 8 years. I have taught elementary reading, math and high school level life skills. For the past 10 years I have been teaching English online and love it! I enjoy expressing my creativity in the classroom and making learning fun for my students! I love to use props, visuals and movement during my lessons, so get ready for some Active Learning! I look forward to meeting you in my classroom!
Family is most important to me. I am married and have 3 children: 1 daughter and 2 sons ages 11, 8 and 6. I love spending time with them and my husband! Some of my other passions include teaching, music and dance, swimming and traveling. I have traveled to many places in the United States as well as to Italy, Switzerland, Mexico and Jamaica. I hope one day to visit more places around the world!

I believe in a student-centered teaching style where students can take control of their own learning. I want my students to be active participants in lessons and I encourage lots of conversation. I also try my best to relate the content of the lesson to the students everyday life in order to make it more relatable and understandable. I am highly adaptable and believe that each class and each student is different, therefore I will adapt my teaching styles to fit the needs of my students.
