Michelle
Hello!
I am happy to teach conversational English to adults. I can provide English tutoring for more professional, specialist and technical STEM subjects. I have taught ESL to children and teens ages 3-18. I have also prepared students for their Cambridge English exam.
I have been an English as a second language teacher for eight years and am currently studying for a Master's degree in Speech and language therapy. I enjoy teaching English and having interesting conversations with my ESL students. I am an avid reader of a wide range of genres, including; fictional books, history, mythology, cultures, science, psychology, philosophy and current events. I enjoy learning new skills and spend time taking courses online and trying to cook new recipes. I love animals and have volunteered with a local Cat rescue charity for seven years. I like to watch movies and TV shows, from older to the most recent releases.

Teaching Style
My teaching style is student-centred and learning through fun. First, I like to encourage students to speak as much as they can at their own level to increase their confidence in speaking in English. I believe everyone learns best when they are interested in the topic; I always encourage students to discuss their lives, likes, dislikes, hobbies and various interests. I then focus on the correction of pronunciation, grammar and sentence patterns. And finally, I focus on the student's intonation and fluency.
