DEAR STUDENTS: MY SCHEDULE IS NOT OPEN FOR GENERAL BOOKING AT THIS TIME. THANK YOU. My name is Sara and I am from Scotland, UK. I have 18 years teaching experience, including 6 years teaching English, and I am TESOL Certified. I have a Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Bristol. I have travelled to over 30 different countries, and for the last 15 years I have travelled, lived and worked in the UK and internationally with people from all over the world. I love meeting people from different places and getting to know their cultures. I started teaching in 2007 and I have taught in several schools in England, including one of the top-rated schools in the UK for exam results. I have also taught in a well-respected school in Beijing. Most recently my focus has been private online English tutoring with both children and adults. I love teaching English and I love to be able to help my students improve their communication in English, whether it is for work or for study, so that they can achieve their goals. I look forward to seeing you in my class! Please note when booking, due to my schedule, I can only accept bookings to start on the hour, or 30 minutes past the hour. I cannot accept bookings starting at 15 minutes or 45 minutes past the hour. Thank you for your understanding.
I was born and grew up in Scotland, UK, but also lived and studied in England. Since 2007 I have split my time between living and working in the UK and internationally (Thailand, China, Argentina). I love nature and being outside. I enjoy SCUBA diving, and have been a qualified instructor for over 12 years. I also love trail running, and have completed several ultra-marathon races. I'm passionate about food, particularly food culture and the development of different cuisines around the world. I'm also an animal advocate, and regularly volunteer with our local animal clinic, helping to feed, walk, train and socialize stray dogs to prepare them for adoption.

I am a friendly and patient teacher. My style is thorough and rigorous, and I inspire my students to achieve their best results through enthusiasm and encouragement. I'm an ideal tutor for students who already know some English, and who want develop their skills in a structured way. I have a focus on correct pronunciation and accurate grammar. I welcome students with specific goals, or topics they wish to understand more thoroughly. I'm detail-oriented and am also delighted to help students prepare for presentations, interviews and exams (including IELTS). Finally, don't worry if you don't know what you want to talk about. With my extensive experience living overseas and working with people from all over the world, we're sure to find interesting topics to discuss!
