Bintang
Hello!
Hello. My name is Bintang, but you can call me Estrella. I was born in NY and grew up in Long Island, NY. I have a home in Guayaquil, Ecuador now. I have a bachelor's degree in English Language Arts and Early Elementary Education. I have a master's degree in TESOL. I have been an English teacher of all ages since 1996. I have taught in Ecuador, NY, Saudi Arabia, and online. I enjoy teaching English and observing my students blossom in their learning experiences. I never became a teacher for the money, benefits, or summer vacations. I became a teacher so that I can make a difference in my students' lives. Teaching is my life; it's not just a job.
My husband and I are lovers of animals. We have 15 dogs and 15 cats, so far. I also love to do handcrafts. I'm interested in crocheting and other yarn crafts. I also like to read crime novels, watch action movies, and write poetry and short stories of my own. My parents instilled a travel bug in me, so I love to travel when I get the chance. I can't stay in one place too long or I get fidgety. I love to learn about new cultures and explore new sights. Working and interacting with other cultures opens my mind to new languages, even if it's just a few phrases. I take pride in the fact that my brain is being exposed to different things. I love learning just as much as I love teaching.

Teaching Style
I am an interactive teacher. I don't want to do all the work. I make sure that my students take part in their learning by actively participating and brainstorming ideas. I like to include games, songs, and other activities to make learning interesting. I cater to the academic needs of my students as well as their personalities so that the students get the most optimal learning experience. I meet the students where they are at and take them further along the road of English learning.
