I come from Manchester in the northwest of England and a city with two very famous football teams. In the UK I have worked in radio broadcasting and TV news. In the Netherlands I worked as a freelance writer and editor and more recently spent some years in online higher education supporting international students who wanted to further their careers through education. I prefer to customise my lessons specifically to the interests and motivations of my student. I use realia and authentic materials taken from everyday life and resources that are relevant and familiar to the student. I will assess the language proficiency and student profile carefully at the start of our mutual learning journey but will reassess and adapt as necessary as the learning journey continues. I will respect the opinions and driving force of the student - and create lessons that can show their ongoing progression and development.
