Rachel
Hello!
*Currently not taking on new students or making many/any reservations; sorry!* Hello! I'm Rachel. I am 37 years old and live in Michigan in the USA. I have been on Cambly since June 2021, am certified in TEFL/TESOL to teach ESL (English as a Second Language), and also have experience teaching teens and adults in the dance and beauty worlds. I am comfortable working with people from all over the world, and can help you with both spoken and written English at very high levels.
I am currently switching fields and am focusing on eventually either gaining a PhD in archaeology to become a professor, OR to go into museum studies or global communications. I have teaching experience in the performing arts world, and tutoring experience in English. Another strong point of mine is my writing; as of July 2021 I expect my work to start being published. I am more than happy to help you with your writing as well as your speaking! Previously I had focused on the beauty, art, and performing arts industries. I have also had the chance to visit several countries (and live in a few), and am more than happy to have a conversation about a wide variety of things--whatever you are most interested in.

Teaching Style
I specialize in working with adults and teens (high school age and up) who have at least a basic level of English. We can choose to do a lesson or exercises, or even just have a conversation! Some of my favorite things to do with students are proofreading/editing of papers (from middle school through post-doctorate levels) and accent refining for fluent students who are interested in that. As I am not a current Cambly Kids instructor, I unfortunately do not have access to lessons for your child. While I love children, please find a Cambly Kids specialist for your child if you desire to have them complete a specific lesson while here today. I do not accept new students under high school age at this time. I like to partner with the person I am teaching so we can figure out together how to move forward when the student is having trouble figuring something out. It's not about me talking at you; it's about you learning something, and me helping as much as is possible along the way. Do not upload or distribute recordings of our classes in any way. These are private classes where we sometimes share private information, and Cambly tutors are not compensated for using our likeness in your social media videos. I only allow my face and voice to be used for advertising if I am being paid adequately, which we are not when you upload our private conversations to the internet. If you are a Cambly Ambassador, I am not interested. Thank you for understanding.
