Me as a Teacher: I began teaching as a tutor and mentor at the University of KwaZulu-Natal for fellow university students whilst I was completing my degree. This experience helped me when I finally decided to teach English full time. I have been an English teacher across various levels, from kindergarten up until adults. This has given me the ability to adapt to my students' needs. I enjoy making my lesson fun but I also understand that this must lead to the bigger goal of learning. I have experience in preparing students for their IELTS exam, from beginner to advanced. My preference is to teach adults but I am fully capable and willing in adapting my skills in teaching younger students.. Online Teaching Experience I have worked with English Gang, which is Thai based online school. This was a pleasant experience and my students grew each week. Which shows me that my style translates and is applicable to online teaching platforms. But due to Corona my current teaching job has also moved online which has given me a lot more experience with teaching online.
About me: Originally born in South Africa, I am a youthful 32 year-old native English teacher with a neutral accent. I am an energetic and fun loving personality that has a keen interest in learning new knowledge and also teaching it. I have various interests such as sports, music and current affairs. I moved to Vietnam in September 2015 which was an amazing journey. I carry a TEFL certification and a degree majoring in Classical Studies and Philosophy. This has given me the ability to have interesting conversations and unique points of view on various topics. My love for music has also led to a brief stint as a DJ in northern and central Vietnam. Hosting and throwing big events. I moved back to South Africa since May 2022.

Teaching Style
My lesson and Teaching style In my lesson, I try to be fun and encouraging to all my students by using games and rewarding good efforts from the students. Being understanding and patient is very important in building a good learning environment. In my experience, teaching is about understanding the students ability and then building up their confidence from there. My primary teaching style is based on the IELTS system which emphasizes the importance of repetition and practice. It has also helped me to develop structures and techniques that students can easily use themselves. I also have experience with KET system which is the Cambridge style of teaching. This method focuses more on the knowledge based learning. Which has fun to learn and use in my classes.
