Hello!
Hello and welcome English learners! I am a patient, kind and friendly teacher and teaching on Cambly is one of the greatest gifts in my life. I teach adult learners only (18+) and have a variety of topics to keep the conversation going! I actively correct students by using the chatbox and am happy to suggest different words/expressions to enhance learners' fluency. I have experience assisting adult learners with interview preparation, IELTS and TOEFL exam preparation, business English, and grammar skills. I look forward to meeting you and helping you practice your English!
I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada on a farm. Following high school, I had my first experience living in a foreign country working as a nanny in Spain. I then returned back to Canada where I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology at Western University. I also obtained my 120-hour TESOL certificate with plans of teaching abroad, but life had other plans and I commenced a career in finance. After seven years in the financial industry, I decided to follow my dreams of living abroad again and began travelling in Latin America. I have lived in beautiful Mexico since 2021 and I'm enjoying living here with my husband and our four dogs on our ranch. I enjoy practicing Yoga, walking with my dogs, reading, cooking and working on my farm.

Teaching Style
I give students three options for our time together: 1) a Cambly lesson, 2) an article from Engoo/ news article from external website or 3) conversation topics with discussion questions. We can also study exam preparation (TOEFL/IELTS), do interview preparation, or have a grammar-focused lesson. I believe that we are the drivers of our own success, so I prefer students to choose an option to initiate the class and I follow their lead. I have found that the more a student takes initiative in their own language learning, the more success they have. My goal is to support and encourage you in order to have the best learning experience possible while providing structure and purpose for our time together. I consider it a privilege to travel on the language learning journey with others and it is one of the many beautiful gifts I have in my life.
