Hello!

Hi, I'm Susan from Calgary, Alberta! If you're looking for an enjoyable and interesting conversation, please book a class with me! I love teaching figurative language including idioms, phrasal verbs and colloquialisms...they're so much fun and they will add to your ability to connect with English speakers. I thrive on perfecting pronunciation as it's the key to all languages. I'm originally from Canada but currently living in Mexico for the past 6 years while still travelling as much as I can. I've been a TESOL tutor for more than 10 years and I believe that conversation combined with structured learning is the key to feeling confident in English. I have many tricks up my sleeve to help you feel self-assured and comfortable when you're speaking in English. I have worked many different jobs in my lifetime from television to motorsports, optician, airline agent, tax department and lastly, a railroad. My varied experiences have provided me with the opportunity to learn specific terminologies so if you need assistance in my areas of expertise, I'm happy to help. My passion is aviation and I have been a private pilot for 36 years...wow, that's a long time! I have mentored many students for the ICAO exam and I also worked for Air Canada at the Toronto airport. I specialize in Aviation and Railway vocabulary and English for Tourism professionals. I look forward to talking with you and making a difference in your life ⭐😊⭐

I've been lucky enough to travel to 37 countries and to have lived in three...Canada, Sri Lanka and Mexico. I love learning about new cultures, new foods and new languages and I'm excited to share yours with you and give you some insight into mine 😍 I have had several different careers in my lifetime because I firmly believe that we are capable of more than we think and I want to encourage you to feel the same. My favourite job was the one that I retired from in 2020. I was a Rail Traffic Controller so I did the same thing for trains that Air Traffic controllers do for planes! I love to kayak, travel, go to festivals and concerts, sample craft beer, reading, creative writing, Broadway musicals, exploring the great outdoors and movies.
