Hello! Welcome to my profile! My name is Carla. I'm glad to meet you! I am from North America. I have lived in the United States and in Canada for most of my life. I've always enjoyed meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. That's why this opportunity to meet you is exciting for me! We all have something of value and worth to offer our neighbors. Sharing our personal stories, values, skills, and knowledge with others is a great way to learn and grow. Sharing these values is also a great way for us to learn and practice English speaking skills together. For the past seven years I've worked with people to teach them life skills, such as, positive self-expression, self-confidence, and positive thinking. It was my highest pleasure to empower my clients. Now I'm putting that same energy and desire to empower others by helping them to practice English speaking. Greetings! Thank you for viewing my profile. I enjoy meeting new people, talking, and learning from each other. I equally enjoy solitude in which I read, listen to audio books, watch an interesting television program, or simply sit and contemplate life. I spend much of my time with my husband or exploring the new country to which I recently moved. I'd like to share more about me and learn more about you through conversation! Teaching Style
Encouraging, kind and honest feedback, and modeling skills is my preferred teaching style. I provide positive affirmation when giving instruction and correction because people learn best when they are comfortable and at ease. My favorite ways to tutor are by using reading activities and conversation practice. Reading improves every area of English speaking including, grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, and fluency. When my students prefer, I will also practice free talk conversation. Learning new things is always a challenge, however, our time together will also be encouraging and interesting.
