Hello!
Hello, my name is Cheryl, and I come from the UK, but I now live on one of the Portuguese Islands in the Azores, so I understand what it is like to learn a new language. I have been teaching children and adults for 9 years now, and the more I teach the more I love doing it. I have been teaching on Cambly for over 3 years, and look forward to carrying on teaching all my present students, plus any new students who would like to join my class :-). I have a 120hr TESOL Certificate.
I am a sociable, fun-loving, energetic person who loves meeting new people and getting to know about other cultures. I love traveling, especially to places that are next to or close to the sea, so leaving the UK and moving to the Azores was a dream come true. I have many interests, including reading, gardening, animals - I have both a cat and a dog. Socialising with friends and family, which involves plenty of talking about different subjects! When talking/ teaching I focus on pronunciation, vocabulary and sentence structure. My teaching style will be very much guided by you, we can use books, lesson material, or just conversations. I am here to help you achieve what you are looking for. One of my main focuses when teaching is to make sure that the lesson is very much student-focused. One thing for sure is that you will have a fun, energetic lesson, with laughter along with the serious side of learning.
