Caly is a highly accomplished veterinarian and data scientist with a passion for using technology to improve healthcare. He has over 30 years of experience in the field, including teaching, research, and practice. Caly began his career teaching English as a Second Language to Spanish speakers while an undergraduate student. He then went on to study veterinary medicine, and as a student, served as an adjunct instructor in the departments of Anatomy, Surgery, and Preventive Medicine. After getting his degree as a DVM, and spending time in practice, Caly continued his training specializing in Medical Informatics. His interest in applying information technology to healthcare with the goal of working on worldwide disease monitoring and surveillance systems, led him to spend the last years of his professional career as, what today is known as a Data Scientist, specifically working as a data engineer. Caly is a highly skilled and experienced professional with a deep understanding of veterinary medicine, medical informatics, software development and data science. He is passionate about using technology to improve the lives of animals and people alike.
