Hello!

Hi! I'm a Canadian English tutor with over 3,700 hours of experience teaching on Cambly since 2019. I know what it's like to learn a language because I've done it myself. I grew up speaking French, became fluent in English as a child, and later learned Spanish and Guatemalan Sign Language. I also lived in Guatemala for 16 years and speak Spanish at almost a native level. I believe there isn't one approach that works for everyone, so I like to understand how each student learns best. My focus is helping students become more confident and fluent, while improving their pronunciation and learning the natural expressions native speakers actually use. My lessons are relaxed, conversational and adapted to you. I want you to feel comfortable speaking, making mistakes, and gradually developing your own natural way of communicating in English. I'd love to meet you!

I'm a curious and easygoing person who genuinely enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their experiences and cultures. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time outdoors, travelling, exploring different cultures, good food, and having conversations about just about anything. I'm especially interested in languages and how people communicate. I'm naturally empathetic, and I think that helps me create a comfortable environment where students can relax and be themselves. I don't expect you to speak perfect English—I want you to feel comfortable speaking, expressing your ideas, and enjoying the conversation. I'm always happy to talk about your interests too.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is relaxed, flexible, and student-focused. I like to get to know each student and adapt my lessons to the way they learn best. I believe conversation is one of the best ways to develop confidence and fluency, so I encourage students to speak as much as possible. I correct mistakes selectively, focusing on things that will make the biggest difference rather than interrupting every sentence. I especially enjoy helping students with pronunciation, natural expressions, idioms, and the way native speakers actually communicate. My goal is for you to leave each lesson feeling more comfortable and confident speaking English than when you started.
