For the past 12 years I've been living and traveling abroad—8 years throughout Southeast Asia and the last 4 years in beautiful Mexico. I love meeting people from around the world and helping them become confident English speakers through relaxed, enjoyable conversations.
Hello! My name is Rhonda, and I'm originally from Canada. Life has taken me on an incredible journey. I've lived in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and now Mexico, where I've been fortunate to meet amazing people and experience many different cultures. Traveling has taught me that communication opens doors, builds friendships, and creates opportunities—and that's exactly why I love teaching English. Before becoming an ESL teacher, I owned my own business for several years and later worked as a paramedic in remote northern Canada. These experiences taught me how to communicate with people from all walks of life, stay calm under pressure, and truly listen. When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me swimming in the ocean, exploring my community, volunteering with animals whenever I can, or studying Spanish myself. Learning another language has made me a more patient and understanding teacher because I know exactly how challenging—and rewarding—it can be. I genuinely enjoy getting to know my students, hearing about their cultures, careers, hobbies, and dreams. Every lesson is an opportunity for both of us to learn something new.
