I like to focus on how to use tenses correctly, phrasal verbs and idiomatic expressions, as these are essential to speak and understand informal, spoken English, something language learners usually struggle with. Conversation is important, especially to get learners used to the English tense system, phrasal verbs and everyday, spoken English, but I also like to 'teach' the grammar of the language, correct pronunciation and and encourage learners to be more confident in using the language. I think that using English in context is a better way to learn new vocabulary than trying to memorise lists of words.
