Jay-Hunt
Hello!
I may not be the perfect tutor and you may not be the perfect student, but we might fit together perfectly! Hello, my name is Jay, and a primary objective of mine is to inspire English language learners to have their dreams realized. Rita Mae Brown once echoed, “Language is the road map of a culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going." Let me help you find your way.
I am a native English speaker who has traveled the world and visited over 30 countries. In the classroom and online, I've taught English to teen and adult foreign language learners, and now live abroad with my family. I collect and listen to vintage vinyl records (mostly old school jazz, r&b and gospel). I curate playlists on Spotify, and enjoy teaching English through musical lyrics, reading autobiographical, historical, and self-improvement books. My favorite thing to watch on live television is NFL football and I have an affinity for all Miami, Florida professional sports teams. I also enjoy painting and photography.

Teaching Style
The intention is to build and maintain your confidence. With an approach that promotes self-discovery and actualization, my teaching style is established on you being guided in a relaxed, but fun and exciting atmosphere. The goal here is to have you to think critically, while also not being bored. I have found that this approach yields greater results than lecture-style or force-fed teaching. If you're looking for someone who can help you gain and maintain confidence in speaking, I'll be happy to assist. RESERVATIONS: All 30-minute reservation requests will be accepted. 1-hour reservations will not. CANCELLATIONS and NON-ATTENDANCE: Scheduling a reservation but failing to attend, and canceling a lesson with less than 24 hours' notice, is highly frowned upon and discouraged. Please attend your scheduled lessons. If that isn’t possible, please be thoughtful, conscientious, kind, and courteous enough to cancel with ample notice or pause your subscription momentarily. Tutors aren’t fully paid for late cancellations, nor when you do not show up. I am flexible and understanding to a certain extent; therefore, I understand that things are sometimes outside of our control. However, whenever late cancellations and non-attendance occur frequently and early in the process, it’s a problem. Mutual respect and keeping the lines of communication open are crucial to a great working relationship. Let's make sure ours is one of them.
