Patrick

Hello!

Hello ! My name is Patrick. I’m Canadian, and I live in the City of Ottawa, in the province of Ontario, in the country of Canada. I have been focused on the teaching of English, online, for about 5 years now, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm happy to say that the path I have been on has led me here to Cambly, and to you. I have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Education, and I have had many years of earlier, offline experience in teaching English to speakers of other languages as well, from First Nations communities throughout Canada, to Taiwan, and to mainland China. The thing I like most about the work I do, is that it doesn’t seem like work at all. It’s fun for me to help people to speak and write English more expressively, and more fluently, and to help them to better understand the English they see and hear. The more successful I am in doing this, the more successful they are in communicating in English. The more successful they are, the more they will want to be a member of my learning community, and the happier we all will be. That happy circumstance is what I aim for, and I hope that you will too. In my free time I enjoy winter sports, such as skiing, skating, and snowshoeing, and summer sports such as sailing, swimming, and fishing. I also love to play the piano, and the guitar, grow fruits and vegetables in the garden, and go cycling. I’m an excellent listener; I’m very patient; and I expect that I will learn as much from you, as you will learn from me. So, let's begin a new adventure in learning together, today.

I am, first and foremost, a people person. I love to engage with people. I especially enjoy the enabling, facilitating, sharing, and celebrating aspects of learning with others, and being an influence on others to become agents of positive change for themselves.
