Jason
Hello!
Hello, I was a qualified Social Worker and practicing Psychotherapist for over ten years in the UK and have been an ESL teacher for 10 years. Currently I work at the local University teaching English and specializing in phonics and pronunciation. Prior to this I taught grades 7-11 at a high school. I am proficient in all aspects of IELTS preparation and use British Council and IDP official material to structure my lessons, and I am currently working towards a Masters in Education, and this has enabled me to understand how we learn and how to best teach others. I have 2 degrees, psychotherapy and political science (humanities), I am very knowledge about foreign relations, history, current affairs and many other subjects. I love to chat, listen and share my knowledge.
I am British, but I grew up all around the world. I love learning about different cultures and meeting people from all over the world. I enjoy many activities from appreciating the nature here in Cambodia, to enjoying visual arts, live music and trying to help the community I live in. For example I provide free school lessons to excluded/ deprived children and counselling adults in need of psychological support. I've always loved learning- in all it's forms, at present I'm continuing to learn Khmer and exploring 20th century literature, these are some of my interests.

Teaching Style
Please note I no longer teach children or under 13's. I use a variety of teaching styles and methodologies based upon the needs and learning style of my students. For example, I use inquiry based learning- the process of actively discovering new vocabulary and language, (asking questions- why? because..... Where? When? etc... this helps students think and expand their language skills}. I will tailor my style to suit you and how you learn best. We all learn slightly differently, I use my educational psychology to adapt to students' needs. My style can be broadly defined as humanistic and informed eclecticism (= it's all about adapting to the needs of the student)
