When I was in graduate school, my mentor said, "We read and we talk," that was her style of teaching students English. I like for students to read articles because in addition to improving reading skills, it also helps in learning new vocabulary and answering discussion questions helps with expressing opinions. I also enjoy practicing small talk because it's a skill many native English speakers aren't good at. I'm a laid-back teacher, because I think learning another language should be fun and not a burden.
