Tricia
Hello!
Hello! My name is Tricia. I am a native English speaker and live in the USA, in the state of Kentucky. I’m a TESOL-certified ESL teacher with a passion for helping English language learners thrive. With over 20 years of experience in education—including more than 15 years as a substitute teacher in public and private schools, 5 years teaching ESL online, and the past 3 years as an ELL teacher in a public school—I am dedicated to creating a supportive, encouraging environment where students can grow in confidence and skill. I hold a Master’s degree in World Missions and a Bachelor’s in Social Work, along with extensive cross-cultural experience that has enriched my teaching approach. Throughout my career, I have worked with learners from countries and cultures all over the world, which has deepened my understanding of the unique challenges and goals each student brings to the classroom. I offer lessons in English language development. My strengths are focused on conversational English, pronunciation and grammar. My teaching style is patient, warm, and professional. I strive to create an atmosphere where you feel comfortable practicing conversation, asking questions, and making mistakes as you improve. While I gently correct grammar and pronunciation, I always aim to keep lessons positive and motivating. Whether you are looking to build everyday English skills, prepare an email, write a paper for university, I am here to help you succeed! I focus on working with teenage students and adults of all ages! Children under the age of 12 I refer to Cambly Kids.
Sometimes it is hard to narrow down everything you would say to describe your life. My life is rich in simplicity living here in the state of Kentucky. In class, I may show you my vegetables that I am growing, the latest sewing or craft project I am making or you may see my Goldendoodle, Gracie, pop her head in for a lesson. Gracie is my dog who likes to sit by me sometimes as I teach lessons. I love books, reading, writing and music. My family and faith mean everything to me and are what bring my life meaning and fulfillment. I am excited to learn about you and your story!

Teaching Style
My teaching style would be described as encouraging, building up confidence in my students. I feel it is important to tailor my classes to the needs of each individual student. My classes consist of various approaches such as reading an article together where we learn new vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking and listening skills. Sometimes students prefer to do a lesson from the Cambly library. I also have students that want to read a novel together to understand certain English phrases and wording that may be difficult to comprehend. Do you need help writing an email or need a paper proofread? I can help you with that too! Let's have class and talk about what approach is best for you! I hope to see you soon :) I work with teen students and adults of all ages! Children under 12 I recommend to Cambly Kids.
