Hello!
My name is Jay and I’m 36 years old and I have been teaching English for 7 years. I have taught over 3,000 students online, more than 2800 hours of lessons and specialize in the IELTS exam and conversational English. I have a teaching English qualification and a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Psychology from Goldsmiths University of London. Please be aware I teach adults only who are, High beginners, intermediate through to advanced. For 15 minute classes please only book at the end of the hour. Thanks I am currently in Vietnam, but have lived in England, Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia, Thailand, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Germany, New Zealand, Peru and Bolivia and France. I enjoy teaching IELTs material, Business English and specialize in pronunciation and vocabulary and grammar . We could discuss the following areas for free conversation: travel, photography, psychology, travel, market research, cultures, sport, food and the environment. As a teacher, I like to maintain a good balance of professionalism with friendliness, approachability and fun. Enjoyment is the key to success. My top tip would be to try and spend your free time engaging in English, through films, music and books as this helps improve comprehension and exposes you to a greater variety of tones, dialects and contexts. Cartoons with subtitles can also be great as you pair new languages with familiar images, shapes and behaviours for visual learner. My hobbies include art, photography and surfing, skateboarding and motorbikes. I love to explore the world. I have travelled to 44 countries. As a consequence, I have a lot of experience speaking to non-native English speakers and have formulated the best way to communicate effectively to enhance learning and comprehension from years of first-hand experience in and out of the classroom. My passion for other cultures extends to learning languages myself, as well as listening to music from all over the world and looking at cultural differences, foods, traditions and histories.

I like to teach IELTS, I always offer corrections, additional grammar and alternative ways to improve your English. My teaching style is student orientated and focuses on helping you engage and improve as best as you can in an environment that is supportive, relaxed, fluid but considered. I believe that I am a fun and dynamic teacher and can cover all the bases, for example pronunciation, grammar, structure, phonics, oral writing, reading. I love teaching people of all ages and pride myself on being able to relate and build a good rapport with anyone regardless of age, gender, background or experience. Overall I make teaching fun and find it very rewarding seeing people improve and excel.
